Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Scam Snap, including our mobile app, website, and related services. By accessing or using Scam Snap, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Scam Snap, you accept these Terms in their entirety. If you are under 13 years old, you are not permitted to use Scam Snap. If you are between 13 and 18, you should review these Terms with your parent or guardian.

2. Description of Service

Scam Snap is an educational, gamified mobile app designed to train users to recognize and respond to common scams in Singapore. The app provides interactive scenarios, scoring, leaderboards, and progress tracking.

Educational Purpose Only: Scam Snap is educational entertainment and not professional security advice. The app is designed to build awareness and teach recognition patterns, but cannot guarantee protection against real scams or fraud.

3. User Accounts and Responsibilities

4. Intellectual Property

All content, graphics, logos, images, and software in Scam Snap are the intellectual property of Scam Snap or licensed to us. These include scenario text, game mechanics, user interface design, artwork, and code.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, reproduce, or reverse-engineer any part of Scam Snap without our prior written consent. You may use Scam Snap only for personal, non-commercial purposes.

User-generated content (if applicable) remains your property, but you grant Scam Snap a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and improve such content.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCAM SNAP AND ITS FOUNDERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• •Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• •Lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data
• •Financial losses from actual scams or fraud
• •Any harm or loss resulting from use of Scam Snap

Liability Cap: Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of (a) S$50 SGD or (b) the total fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scam Snap, its founders, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or losses arising from your violation of these Terms, your use of Scam Snap, or your violation of any applicable law. This indemnification does not apply to claims arising from our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

9. Data Protection and PDPA Compliance

Your use of Scam Snap is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

By using Scam Snap, you consent to our collection and use of data as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Apple App Store & Google Play Store Terms

Scam Snap is currently distributed as a web app and installable Progressive Web App (PWA) at scam-snap.com — it is not yet available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

If app store versions are released in the future, your download and use of those versions will also be subject to the respective store's terms of service, and in the event of conflict the more restrictive provision will apply.

11. Termination

We may terminate your access to Scam Snap at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may stop using Scam Snap at any time; clearing your browser storage removes all locally saved progress.

Upon termination, your right to use Scam Snap ceases immediately. Certain provisions (including Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law) survive termination.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any legal action or proceeding relating to Scam Snap shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Singapore, and you consent to the jurisdiction and venue of such courts.

Before pursuing legal action, we encourage you to contact support@scam-snap.com to attempt to resolve disputes informally.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before material changes take effect. Your continued use of Scam Snap after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is deemed unenforceable, invalid, or illegal, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Scam Snap regarding your use of the app. These Terms supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, representations, or understandings.
